We headed down to watch the Terrace Days parade with Grandma Shirlene and set up next to the announcer at the start of the parade. I think it was just some guy that lived on the street, but he did a good job. The volume was little low--which was fine for those of us sitting in front of the speakers--but you could barely hear him from across the street.
It rained a bit when we first got there, but it cleared up."Hey, Dad! Are you watching this?"Here's Papa Breon! He looks different... last year he looked liked this guy..."Ah, man! I'll I got was handfuls of Tootsie Rolls!""Yay! Non-Tootsie Rolls!"Actually, Max walked away with a bag full of candy, most of it of the non-Tootsie Roll variety. It didn't take him long to figure out how to play the game. He would give a fake smile, wave and say "Hi!" Paraders couldn't resist throwing candy at him. It also helped that we were at the start of the parade before the candy reserves started to diminish. It was a really nice day, the perfect temperature, the rain stayed away, and it was cloudy so the sun didn't shine in our eyes. And Max really enjoyed how much candy he got!
